Shine Strong provides art programs for children and adults of all ages and abilities, including those with physical and developmental disabilities. In addition to being a life-long artist, Jen has been teaching art for over 15 years to children and adults from the beginner to advanced level. Jen has been a registered nurse for 30+ years and has extensive experience working with children and adults with chronic illnesses, and physical and developmental disabilities. Many of Jen’s student have moved on to careers such as art education, animation, set design, game design, interior design/architecture, and founded a global arts-based non-profit.

With my second year officially teaching at BSA coming up so soon, it got me reminiscing about how far I've come in my art career, and what got me here in the first place. Not just from getting my college degree, but even well before I decided to pursue art as a career. Feels like only yesterday that I was in Jen Easterday 's art class as a middle and high school student, and now I'M the one TEACHING middle and high school students! HUGE shout out to the lovely Mrs. Easterday for encouraging my artistic talent way back when; the skills and joy of the craft you instilled in my are now getting passed on to my own students! Can't think of a better art teacher to have had for all those years!

My daughter LOVES her art class with Jen! We do arts and crafts at home but her time with Jen and her peers in the Down Syndrome Association is very special. Jen comes with all the supplies, all the talent and all the enthusiasm! And these art projects are big! As big as Jen’s heart! She has brought skills out in my daughter that we didn’t even know she has. Whenever we see an opportunity to sign up for an art class with Jen, we jump on it.
